Newly adapted
for the Edinburgh Fringe, The Works of Fate is a vibrant and funny take on one of
the infamous Marquis de Sades sinister stories..
Newlyweds
Florville and Courval couldnt be happier - but things take a terrible turn when a
letter from Courvals estranged son leads them to the premier of a play which bears a
striking resemblance to their own troubled pasts.
As the
rude and rambunctious tale unfolds, it seems that Florville is not quite as innocent as
she would have Courval - and you - believe. With ridiculous rhyme, murderous mime and a
generous helping of innuendo, The Works of Fate gallops towards a deliciously
diabolical twist with terrible consequences for its hapless heroine - both on and off the
stage.

unique adaptation reveals the light-hearted side of the much-maligned Marquis whilst
paying tribute to his lurid and sensational style. |
