Everyone likes to laugh. That is a scientific
fact for which scientists have long sought a formula. Indeed, during the course of
researching this phenomenon some of the world’s leading theoretical physicists have
been responsible for writing comedies such as Blame
it on the Pope, Not now Mother!, and Bread.
Now a group of writers have found a formula
which turns words and actions into comedy gold, and these writers are offering up their
findings for free at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Owen Hughes, who is one of the group, invitingly
warns comedy lovers to expect original material that is likely to cause offence to you, to
your children, and to your children’s children.
“This definitely isn’t
one to bring your young kids along to. But if you want to see sketches that may make you
wince, cry, shudder, or simply cry out, “My eyes!”, then by God, make sure you
see this show before it’s banned by The Daily Mail.”
