“TERRORS OF THE BLACK MUSEUM” is the debut full length show from comedy sketch troupe “The Black Museum.”  This year’s Edinburgh Fringe will see The Black Museum performing their first full length comedy show. The group have been together since 2008 when three stand-ups decided to turn their love of horror films into comedy material.

After two years writing and performing, the group have put together a show which parodies 1970s British horror films and modern conspiracy theories.  A combination of Fringe veterans and newcomers The Black Museum group have picked up numerous accolades for their comedy and this year have been performing across London and East Anglia.

This Edinburgh Fringe, “Terrors of the Black Museum” will be part of the Free Festival @Espionage (Venue 185) between August 6th and 21st from 13:00 (50mins).

The Black Museum comprises stand up comedians Dan McKee, Ben Smith and Laurence Tuck who, during a gig one night, discovered a mutual love of Hammer horror and 1970s B-Movies. Dan McKee has been performing sketch comedy at the Edinburgh Fringe since 1999. Dan recently started stand-up and has gone on to place in numerous new act competitions. He runs and comperes the successful Salt Box Comedy Club at Norwich Arts Centre. Ben Smith and Laurence Tuck have been writing together since university and have written sketches for C4 Radio and BBC7. Ben Smith is Lowestoft’s only resident stand-up comedian while Laurence Tuck was a quarter-finalist in the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year Competition 2009.

The Black Museum perform across the south east of England . They both host and perform at various venues on both the comedy and cabaret circuits. After this Edinburgh Fringe they will be setting up a monthly London residency and hope to perform the show around the country.
