TERRORS OF THE
BLACK MUSEUM is the debut full length show from comedy sketch troupe The Black
Museum. This years Edinburgh
Fringe will see The Black Museum performing their first full length comedy show. The group
have been together since 2008 when three stand-ups decided to turn their love of horror
films into comedy material.
After two years writing
and performing, the group have put together a show which parodies 1970s British horror
films and modern conspiracy theories. A
combination of Fringe veterans and newcomers The
Black Museum group have picked up numerous accolades for their comedy and this year
have been performing across London and East Anglia.
This Edinburgh Fringe,
Terrors of the Black Museum will be part of the Free Festival @Espionage
(Venue 185) between August 6th and 21st from 13:00 (50mins).
The Black Museum comprises stand up comedians Dan
McKee, Ben Smith and Laurence Tuck who, during a gig one night, discovered a mutual love
of Hammer horror and 1970s B-Movies. Dan McKee has been performing sketch comedy at the
Edinburgh Fringe since 1999. Dan recently started stand-up and has gone on to place in
numerous new act competitions. He runs and comperes the successful Salt Box Comedy Club at
Norwich Arts Centre. Ben Smith and Laurence Tuck have been writing together since
university and have written sketches for C4 Radio and BBC7. Ben Smith is Lowestofts
only resident stand-up comedian while Laurence Tuck was a quarter-finalist in the Laughing
Horse New Act of the Year Competition 2009.
The Black Museum perform across the south east of England
. They both host and perform at various venues on both the comedy and cabaret circuits.
After this Edinburgh Fringe they will be setting up a monthly London residency and hope to
perform the show around the country.
