One burd; many voices. [The
Lyrebird: Sings far-carrying melodious notes interspersed with perfect mimicry of other
creatures.]
Kearas new expressive
character comedy show introduces us to some brand new characters including the mythical
Mary Malone from the great book of Irish Insults. Mary
is the put-upon mother of nine, blind, illegitimate children who is baffled by her curse
and so seeks out a cure from the local priest.
Mistress MacKenzie - star of
Highland Radio - gives out some more alternative school lessons to the children of the
remote Island communities. Subjects include
the long and bloody history of paperclips and some homely advice on love in a drizzly
climate.
Donatella Pringle - the
Liverpudlian tour guide - takes us on a hazardous coach trip through The Gadango
Mountains, where we enjoy some unique sights including a field of free-roaming miniature
dead donkeys, a crumbling 60s tower-block which has recently received World Heritage
status and an authentic shootout as part of the resort family entertainment.
Making a welcome return are two
old favourites: pub landlady and sadistic husband-beater, Stacey Broon and failed Vegas
stripper, Madeleine Morningstar.
And, of course, just for
nonsense, there will be a few impersonations thrown in for absolutely no reason at all
other than the fact that she can.
A great character actress whose comic creations go
beyond the one-dimensional sketches; they live and make you laugh and cry. -
SCOTSMAN
Her motor-mouth delivery makes Ben Elton look like
Stephen Hawking. - CHORTLE
Shes a veritable comedic jukebox, pumping
out pitch-perfect accents from grimiest Glaswegian to haughtiest Home-Counties.
