“Lively and hugely entertaining.” -Robbie Carnegie Buxton Fringe Festival 08

‘Are We there Yet?’ is the hilarious musical comedy which gained nominations and reviews on it’s first showing at Buxton Fringe last year.

Flying cattle class all the way, singers Donna Wannabe (Diana Sharp) and Katherine Withakay (Dawn Foxall) take a titanic trip to glamour city Las Vegas for their big break.  They think they are safe in the hands of pilot Ralf Dingo, (pianist David Barnard) but a storm over the Atlantic has them diverting just about everywhere as they chase connections across the globe with music from Carmen and the British Airways ad (Delibes famous Flower Duet) to James Bond to name just a few.

Directed by Dan Marsh and already performed at Buxton Festival Fringe 2008 and the New Works Season at the Rosemary Branch Theatre London, the show was highly recommended at Buxton Fringe and won a nomination for Best Music.

“Musically delightful, and beautifully sung, the girls also bring great humour and showmanship to each piece, in which they are aided and abetted by their skilful accompanist, David Barnard, in the role of camp cabin crew from various nations.”  - R Carnegie 2008 Buxton Fringe Festival

Two sassy, mischievous girls with fabulous classically trained voices, Opera Larks Dawn Foxall and Diana sharp, accompanied by the fabulous pianist David Barnard, fuse marvellous music and comedy into an innovative and hugely entertaining performance.

Opera Larks have toured Europe and the UK delivering their highly appealing shows to eager audiences.   Their solo careers have spanned opera, orchestral concerts and oratorios, performing at such venues as The Royal Albert Hall, South Bank Centre, Birmingham Symphony Hall and Wigmore Hall.

Dawn has recorded vocals for BBC documentaries such as ‘Rome’ and ‘The Incredible Human Jouney’ and sung on Sony’s ‘Chillout’ CDs with saxophonist Julian Smith (finalist ‘Britain’s Got Talent’!),  and Diana was a finalist in national and international competitions and toured nationally in opera roles with Mid Wales Opera, English Touring Opera and Music Theatre Kurnow.

David Barnard works as a répétiteur with prestigious opera companies including The State Opera of South Australia, Opera Osuna – Seville, British Youth Opera, Raymond Gubbay Ltd and English National Opera and as an accompanist performed across the UK, Europe & Australia.

If you’re looking for a show with fun, frivolity and gorgeous singing “Are we There Yet” is not to be missed!
