A blues singer/songwriter and accomplished actor who has worked at the National Theatre, and toured with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Sameena Zehra has been performing stand-up comedy for about four years. In that time, she has written and performed two solo shows, which have played in the UK at Edinburgh, Camden and Manchester Fringes, and travelled to Adelaide Fringe and Melbourne International Comedy Festival. She also runs a travelling comedy compilation night, ‘The Cult of Comedy’.
Sameena's comedy is witty and intelligent and she is a consummate writer and performer who has a great connection with her audience. She is a storyteller and a comedian with a unique take on the world, equally at home exploring the individual experiences of daily life and the larger issues of the world we live in. She is a regular performer at the 'Shaggers' comedy nights all around the UK and has been performing her new solo show, 'Homicidal Pacifist' since May 2014.
