Max is an actor, writer, director and producer and has been creating and performing work since he was 15.
In 2016 he said 'sayonara' to his cushy London job and life to train professionally at Ecole Philippe Gaulier theatre school in France under the legendary Philippe Gaulier, described by former student Sasha Baron Cohen as the greatest living teacher of clown comedy and modern theater, and the funniest man he's ever met.
Max made his Edinburgh Fringe acting and production debut in 2012 for Live Wire Theatre. In 2015 he established Band Of Others Theatre Company and acted in and co-produced a sellout run of The Importance Of Being Earnest in London. His stand-up comedy career was brief, lasting for just 49 seconds at The Comedy Store’s notorious Gong Show. Never again.
His material is best explained like the recipe for a rib-tickling and refreshing cocktail: Combine 1 measure of insightful and real with 1 measure of shockingly subversive. Shake with the surreal and dotty and some gluten-free ice. Serve with an inventive twist in a thought-provoking tumbler. Do NOT add a bloody straw.
Max considers himself British and is exactly 200 centimetres tall. Get a tape measure and check if you don't believe him.
