Liam McCormick is a writer and performed based in Glasgow. A regular on the Scottish spoken word scene: having performed at Loud Poets, The High Flight, 10 Red and many others. He is set to perform at Scottish Slam Championships next year after winning The New Materials slam. His collection ‘Govanhell’ is a series of poems set in a fictional version of Govanhill that sunk into the Earth’s mantle sometime in the late 1980s: and has become run down by demons, conspiracy nuts and shady government agents. The collection deals with the myriad issues post-industrial towns face as well as sex, drugs, politics, poverty and techno. He also believes it is better to laugh than cry.
