Arkie T Williams Bio
Australian 'Arkie T Williams' is a natural fit for alternative country and roots music. It is her voice that will strike you first: strong and stunning, capturing the beauty and essence of each well-crafted song.
Then it is Arkie's warm and honest live performances, drawing on her love of storytelling to compel audiences and leave a lasting impression.
When she picked up a guitar and learnt a few chords over 20 years ago, Arkie fell in love with the songwriting process, like her heroes Patty Griffin, Paul Kelly, Nina Simone and Willie Nelson (among others).
Since her EP, “Nightbird” was released in 2006, she opened a music venue and cafe in Ballarat, brought another child into the world, and found a new passion for playing live, where she once preferred writing to performing.
Arkie T Williams is currently working on her next album release with a single release on Anzac Day to commemorate Anzac 100 years. The single 'The Last Ship' tells the story of the loss of first love when a young serviceman never returns to his waiting girlfriend.
Arkie and the band are set to tour the East Coast of Australia this October with a tour of The Netherlands and Sweden in the pipeline in 2016.
