Brydie Lee-Kennedy

“Brydie Lee-Kennedy is a time travelling nightmare vision of the future…and a comedian, if you like that sort of thing”- former lover.

Brydie trained as an actor, dancer and singer before throwing it all away to become a comedian and cabaret performer. Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, she honed her performing skills during her time at The University of Sydney before moving into the world of professional comedy.

Since 2008, Brydie has toured her sketch, cabaret, improv and children’s shows (yes, she’s entertained children, no, she doesn’t like to talk about it) to The Adelaide Fringe, The Melbourne International Comedy Festival, The Sydney Comedy Festival, The Edinburgh Fringe, The Brighton Fringe and many, many cities and towns in between. She is best known as the writer, director and mermaid of Princess Cabaret, which earned accolades worldwide for its satirical take on the Disney Princesses and as the slutty half of cabaret duo Sugar & Vice.

In 2014, she launched her first solo hour of comedy storytelling, Brydie Lee-Kennedy Repeats On You. It was desrcibed as "Sophisticated, well-crafted and touching story telling from a woman who’s lead a life less ordinary" (Broadway Baby). She will follow this up in 2015 with I Love You Two, another storytelling show focusing on polyamory and alternative sexual lifestyles.

Brydie has written extensively for television and other media in Australia and the UK and is currently SBS Comedy’s sex and dating correspondent. She is also the executive producer of Gatecrash, a podcast network based in London, on which she co-hosts 2 shows. She’s currently working on a number of projects including a fairytale told by puppets, a musical about the wives of Henry VIII and a recipe for making tofu delicious without deep-frying it. She lives in London with her beret collection, bourbon shelf and two tortoises.
