I'm an over 50 female stand-up comedian who has performed in pubs , clubs, music festival in the East Midlands & Derbyshire , including JusttheTonic, Leicester. I started doing stand up 27 years ago and was Jeremy Hardy's warm up in a grotty pub in Nottingham and was one of 3 acts at Nottingham University. One of the 3 acts was a guy called Henry Normal who is now a millionaire and partners & writes with Steve Coogan. He said I was good and should continue but I had a young child and had to start earning regular money. Now my baby is grown up & I've restarted doing stand-up. So far haven't died on stage! (although this is a rite of passage I believe). I appeal to more of a middle aged audience who can relate to what I talk about (and avoid use of the 'ef' word which oung comedians feel they have to use to get a laugh) I talk about being an Essex Girl, ageing and things that make me grumpy now I'm older (new technology, reality TV , nouveau, bloody, cuisine & square plates!)
In September 2016 , having submitted my application form and been selected, I performed my half hour show at Women In Comedy Festival Manchester.
