Mid Life Krysis
Steven Vickers (aka Mid Life Krysis) was born the son of a docker and a systems analyst in Middlesbrough (the least desirable place to live in the UK according to Location, Location, Location). His early ambitions were as a part time pub comedian and author, then actor, then rock and roll star. These days he's not too bothered as long as it involves showing off on stage somehow. He has performed as the lead in a number of plays including Azdak in the Caucasion Chalk Cirlce and Scagnerelle in Scagnerelle as well as collaberating in a number of self penned comedy sketches. However his emphasis is largely on music, being the frontman of several bands right up until his latest outfit The Victor Pope Band who have been together for 5 years. With these bands and solo he has played all over Edinburgh and the UK appearing at the Wickerman, Jockstock, Linky Lea, Equinox, Audiosoup, Kelburn and Lindisfarne festivals. He experimented again with comedy at the 2011 and 2014 free fringes to some degree of success and the theatrical spark was re-ignited. Laterly his attention has turned to hip hop and he has recorded 3 self penned, self produced albums in the last year. The comedic and theatrical nature of the music has leant itself well to live performance and he has already done a number of succesful shows around Edinburgh and the UK. Last year he performed at the Prague fringe as part of the Twonkeys Night Train to Lichtenstein show and at the Northern Green Gathering. This year he has secured a place at the Eden Festival and hopes to take his unique brand of hip hopery hilarity to the next level at the Edinburgh Fringe.
