Andrea Edwards and Nicola Burgess make up the newly formed comedy duo, ‘Follow Through Productions’.
They have actually known each other for years but have only just started writing together. They first met on the set of a Bollywood Film…..which was being filmed in North Wales! They were both freelancing for a company that specialises in teaching children and young people film making skills and as well as fulfilling a host of other responsibilities, they ended up playing two old dinner ladies in a scene that took place in a school canteen. With all of the waiting around during takes they got chatting and discovered that they had the same irreverent sense of humour and were definitely on the same page comedy wise. There and then they determined to work together.
After that fateful day Andrea and Nicola became firm friends and running and Cross Fit buddies, often dreaming up potential creative ideas between reps. It took another 10 years for them to get their arses into gear however and actually write something. One day, they finally got together to discuss an idea that Nicky had about creating a show about running. ‘A show about running?!?!?!? What on earth would we write about?’. Andrea wasn’t convinced that the subject matter was suitable for a comedy show. However, after being accepted into the Machynlleth Comedy Festival in 2017 they had a 3 week deadline to create something. So, after 3 weeks holed up in Nicky’s house sustained only by lemon brioche (how very middle class) and curries from the curry van on market day – they emerged bleary eyed with the semblance of a show, A Big Fat Running Show no less. It was performed at the Mach Comedy Fest as a work in progress and sold out and got a standing ovation. It has been tweaked and perfected since it’s first outing and is now ready to hit the comedy circuit big time. The show is going from strength to strength and will be performed at The Warren Venue at the Brighton Fringe (May 2018) and the Museum of Comedy in London (July 2018).
