2008 Competition Entry Requirements

1. Any act may enter unless:

(a) An act has already appeared in the Final of a Previous Laughing Horse New Act of the Year Competition. This does not include the 'Big, Big, Big new act competition' we we ran in 2002 - 2004 & 2007. Previous entrants may re-enter again if they progressed no further than the semi-finals - If in doubt ask us!

(b) An act has been paid by the Laughing Horse For a stand-up comedy performance. This does not include travel expenses which many new acts are paid to some out of London gigs – if you want to enter and are in doubt ask us!

(c) An act is considered by Laughing Horse Comedy not to be a new act. Again, if unsure and you want to enter, please ask us. Single acts who were once double-acts, comedians that where once part of sketch groups, acts with a new character that will be their primary act etc may be included at our discretion, if we agree what you are doing is 'a new act'.

   .

2. All acts who enter must be able to travel to one of the quarter finals, one of the semi finals, and the Final.

(a) Overnight accommodation will be provided if required for out-of-London acts for the  Final only, Accommodation will be on the night of the final only. This must be arranged with the Laughing Horse promoter at the time of your qualification from the final.

3. Whilst every attempt will be made to fit you into a heat, quarter-final or semi-final that is easiest for you to travel to, this may not always be possible. Early entry is advisable if you need to get to a specific heat.
