The hilarious Cynical Optimist returns with
his second showcase show. Following the success of last year's 4 star show, the pedantic
Mack Daddy gets 'Off the Hook' about being Black in the UK. Challenging and funny. - Three Weeks
Six foot one and a big Black bundle of comedy fun. Donald
Mack is one of the new generation of Black stand-up comedians. Old enough to know
better, but young enough to not care! Donald Mack is a unique comedian. He balances his
material between his "Old Skool" roots and his "Nu Skool" attitudes.
This means that anything (well almost) and anybody is up for ridicule including the Mack
Daddy himself.
Donald's love of comedy harks back to the 60s and 70s when he
first saw Morecambe & Wise live. Donald's comedy heroes includes the late giants but
he has also been inspired by the likes of Tommy Cooper, Red Foxx, Richard Pryor, Eddie
Murphy, Robin Williams and Bill Hicks amongst others, so expect a cheeky chap who keeps
his hard-hitting material as real as can be.
Donald may be cuddly and lovable, but he's also hard-hitting,
uses explicit language (sometimes) and explicit material (all of the time) and a bloody
good laugh to boot. With Donald, be it social, political, sexual or surreal it's going to
be damn funny. His unique take on life and our perceptions is fuelled by his dual belief
that "Shit happens" and "So what!"
Born of Jamaican parents, Donald describes himself as a six
foot one bundle of comedy fun. The truth is he looks more like a Bouncer. He attempts to
foster charm, wit and stylish good looks. He only achieves two out of three because you
can't change nature without a good plastic surgeon. |
