A loose, anarchic night of artistic freedom for comedy, music, magic and spoken word. Third year at the festival, Lach’s Antihoot doubles as both a night of entertainment and The Fringe’s seen and be seen after midnight gathering place where the best of the fringe performers mingle, let their hair down and knock ‘em alive on stage!‘A Manhattan Institution!’ – (NYTimes) ‘5 Stars!’ – (Herald) ‘Lach is face-ache funny!’- (Guardian} ‘Top Five Late Night Show!’ – (List) Lach's Antihoot has been at The Fringe for the last two years garnering 5 star reviews from such media as The Herald and Forth Radio with Kate Copstick raving in The Scotsman 'I am addicted to Lach's Antihoot'. The Antihoot is a loose, anarchic night of artistic freedom for the performers, anything from comedy, to songwriting to magic to spoken word happens on any given night. The only thing not allowed is heckling, this is a freedom zone and yet a safe space of camaraderie and hi-jinx for the artists. At The Fringe Lach’s Antihoot has been a showcase for everyone from comics such as Paul Foote and Rich Fulcher to amazing musicians like Panda Sue, Lee Patterson, Depresstival and, of course, Lach himself. In addition to being the hotspot for Fringe stars to try stuff out late at night it is also the main outlet for native Edinburgh talent to still have a home and showcase during Fringe at no cost, thus helping to galvanize and foster an atmosphere in the local scene that informs the rest of the year. With it’s move to Free Fringe Lach’s Antihoot now doubles as The Fringe’s seen and be seen after midnight gathering place.Performers! Please meet Lach at The Counting House Ballroom bar at 11:30pm to get on the list for the night's show.
