comedy performance over a days course - and the course participants will learn and present
a short stand-up routine about their workplace, people they work with and subjects that
they are passionate about at the end of the day - to an audience of their work colleagues.
Stand-up comedy performance can provide your
team not only with unique team bonding experience, but with additional performance
skills that can be used throughout corporate presentations, and interaction with
colleagues.Areas covered in the day include:
 Comedians Talking: What makes a comedian work?
How do comedians present themselves on stage and to an audience - what is their attitude?
Learn through watching and discussing experienced stand-up comedians, and learn important
performance and presentation skills.
Writing Skills: Creating the comedy routine - how
to Edit your writing, pick out the most important pieces of information, and choose the
best material from ideas and concepts.
Deconstructing Material: What makes a good
comedian? What is the form of a Joke? Rule of three, lists, working forwards and
backwards, topics, methods of developing punchlines and routines.
Technical and general Skills: Microphone
technique, audience skills, improvisation, dealing with hecklers.
Performance preparation: Presenting yourself
infront of an audience, preparation for going on stage.
The course will include several sessions performing in front the
studying group, and the tutor, and all areas will be achieved through lively, interactive
exercises, improvisation and demonstrations.
About Comedy can create a tailored training
