ADVANCED STAND-UP COMEDY COURSE

This course runs over six weekly sessions, with a number of graduations shows organised after the final session, depending on the number of participants on the course. This course is aimed for newer comics and people who want to progress write longer routines and 20 minute sets, and further towards Edinburgh Fringe shows, and also to performers who have completed our 2-day or 4-week beginner courses.

This is an intensive course over 6 weeks where you will develop a 20 minutes routine, and from this perform 15 minutes at a showcase show to the general public. The showcase is also an opportunity where the comics can invite comedy industry people and film their set for showreels - or just get a chance to perform a longer set. This course is led by Jay Sodagar - click here for more information on the tutor.

The course will cover the following

First Session

Watching comics die and why they died
Homework: write 3 minutes of material for the next session, including 1 minute of material on a subject of my choosing, perform for 5-10 minutes (spaces available at Laughing Horse clubs if required) and write about the full night of comedy that you performed at.
