Think You're Funny?

Want the chance to win 1,000 and be seen by the comedy industry?

Entries for the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year 2015 are now open

Heats for the 2015 competition run from August through to the end of October in London, Edinburgh, Brighton, Manchester and Cambridge - with semi-finals in London during November, and the big final on December 6th.

This competition is a comedians chance to follow in the footsteps of many top name comedians, who cut their comedy teeth in this competition and where discovered by performing in it. We've been finding the best in new UK comedy since 2001 - Greg Davies won the competition on his fourth ever gig, Russell Kane won it in the first six months when he was starting out, and the list of previous winners and finalists includes these, Jack Whitehall, Rhod Gilbert, Daniel Rigby, Nina Conti, Imran Yusuf, Marek Larwood, Steve Hall, Matt Kirshen, Carl Donnelley and many, many more.

The prizes are worth over 2,000 - and this includes a winners cheque for 1,000, plus paid work, trophies, runners-up prizes and a lot of exposure in the comedy industry. And there is always the chance of extra prizes being added... last year the winner also got to go on a comedy tour of Asia and get comedy work in Australia from us.

Heats run around the country from August until October, followed by the semi-finals in  November.

The grand final this year will be held at The Dogstar in Brixton, on Sunday December 6th 2015 - where the top acts will be judged by a panel of industry experts, in front of an audience that will also sees a big chunk of the comedy industry in attendance.

To see all the competition rules, click here - and the full list of prizes is here.

All entries must be made via the online application form. Follow the instructions on this page
